Death Proof: 2007

Every film Quentin Tarantino has directed have been thrilling to watch. Movies such as “The Dusk Till Dawn Trilogy”, “Kill Bill”, “Desperado”, “Sin City”, “Reservoir Dogs” would have you on the edges of your seats. Tarantino’s style of directing is of high quality as most of his films consist of violence, bloodshed, high pitch soundtracks which catches the viewers ears and mainly for giving actors, who have slowly faded, the performances of their life’s. The movie, “Death Proof”, mainly focuses around a character named Stunt man Mike, played by Kurt Russell. Stuntman Mike goes around terrorising young, beautiful women with his “death proof” car. After stalking them, he sets out to cause terrible accidents in which only he can walk away from. However, Mike gets a taste of his own medicine as he encounters a group of women, who he wished he never came cross paths with. “Death Proof” is like your typical 70’s movie, it contains both beautiful women and it can be seen as a psycho movie. For a movie that contains beautiful women, it contains no sexual scenes. When it comes to been a psycho movie, there’s a twist. First off, half of the movie is set in Austin, Texas. This is where he meets his victims in a local bar. When he encounters them, he receives a lap dance from one of the women after guessing the missing reel from jungle Julia. Shortly afterwards, Mike leaves a pile of destruction behind, which sees all the victims suffer horrific injuries and soon dying. Unlike the first half of the movie, the second half is completely different as it involves a car chase between Mike and his next victims. When you compare the two halves, the outcomes are different for Mike. He got what he wanted when he killed the first group in the first half. However, he pays the price when he gets into a stick of bother when chasing his next victims. Unlike his last victims, this group fights back and turns the tide on him.
